A Journey of Healing and Support with Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Navigating the health and well-being of young children can be challenging for families. For one family in Sauk Rapids, MN, finding the right care was life-changing. Sarah Elness brings all three of her children to Chiropractic Performance Center in nearby Sartell, MN for chiropractic care.

“I have been bringing my children to this practice for many years,” Sarah said. “I chose this practice, and specifically Dr. Sara Cuperus, due to the level of training and specialization she offers in pediatric chiropractic.”

Sarah’s first visit to Dr. Cuperus’ clinic was when her middle child was born and had a tough time latching on to nurse. She had a tongue tie, which had been resolved, but she was still struggling. The baby was also having a difficult time sitting comfortably in a car seat and was suffering from acid reflux. Dr. Cuperus, along with a cranial sacral therapist, worked closely with the family to help resolve these issues and provided some musculoskeletal adjustments as well.

“After five weeks, my child could easily sit in her car seat without hysterically crying, was nursing incredibly well and her acid reflux had improved,” Sarah said. “I was very surprised by the results and honestly don’t know what our lives would have looked like without them. I would not have been able to continue nursing the baby without them and that was important to me.”

The Elness family’s youngest child, who was born with Down Syndrome, also visits the clinic to help with constipation and acid reflux. The oldest child visits the practice to receive adjustments for sports soreness.

“Dr. Cuperus is so welcoming and helpful, and the entire staff is very accommodating and always goes the extra mile,” Sarah said. “I have recommended Dr. Cuperus to many people because she has provided peace of mind to our family over the years, helping with issues.”

In addition to her work at the practice, Dr. Cuperus is also an adjunct professor for Logan University’s Master of Science in Chiropractic Pediatrics (MS-CP) program. This chiropractic pediatrics program is the only one of its kind in the US, offering chiropractors additional master’s-level specialized training in pediatrics. Students in the MS-CP program spend two years learning clinically focused and evidence-informed information, taking their pediatric chiropractic knowledge to a new level.
